Dorsey Fenner and Rob Campbell created The
Wine Guy in 1999, moving to Asheville from
Atlanta, where they had been in the wine business
for over 15 years as retailer, wholesaler, and
restaurant owners. The Wine Guy offers an ever
changing, manageable number of wines from
around the world, personally tasted and selected
for quality and value. You will find terrific
alternatives to the factory wines found in
grocery stores, as well as limited production wines
from the world's top growing regions and
wineries. Craft-brewed beers and a nice selection
of wine accessories round out the operation.
Personal service is our specialty, and we
take the time to learn your preferences so that you
will get the most satisfaction from your wine
purchase. We offer regularly scheduled wine
tastings and classes to increase your knowledge
and enjoyment, and work with the area's top
restaurants to present incredible wine dinners, as
well.
At The Wine Guy, we are happy to answer
any wine related questions you may have, and will
gladly consult with you on plans for upcoming
weddings, banquets, or simple gatherings with
friends. Please stop in and let us share some of our
discoveries
Saturday Wine Tastings
We are pleased to present free wine
tastings every Saturday from 2-5 pm. Frequently we will invite a local distributor to pour a few new wines from their portfolio. No reservations
required and there will be special pricing on the wines we sample.

Happy Springtime!
Spring will soon arrive, so dust off the grill and get ready to entertain outdoors!
In mid-April, we expect delivery of a half dozen different new Rose wines to celebrate the season—details coming up in the next newsletter!
We continue to offer free
Saturday tastings from 2-5 pm, so stop in to sample some of our new
favorites!
We would like to thank you for choosing us as your source for great value wines, special occasion wines, and tastings.
Well, as promised in the last edition of the newsletter from ‘The Wine Guy’, much change has come to pass, thus far, in 2013. In this case, ‘change’ has been a welcoming, fresh and
positive result of much preparation and care; almost as welcoming as the upcoming Spring weather!
While ‘change’ is often the source of much anticipation and hope, let’s face it...oftentimes much of the ‘hope’ can simply be that “All goes well…”, with whatever the
respective change might be. As I explained in the January/February edition, I have looked forward to the upcoming advent of my
retirement, and all of the personal changes therein; especially, the transition in ownership of my shop, ’The Wine Guy’, to its new Owner/Operator, Richard Drummond.
And, I am pleased to announce to all of you, my loyal and appreciated customers who have also become my dear friends over the years of operation, that the change in
ownership has been smooth and successful. But, more importantly, this change has become the beginning of another wonderful friendship that I have experienced as a result of ‘The Wine Guy’, as I have come to know Richard.
As time goes by, I trust that you will all come to know Richard in the same ways that I have come to know him and that you will soon agree with me that “our” store remains in good, friendly and helpful hands. Also, I would like to extend a special ‘Thank You’ to all of you who attended our last seated tasting, in February, (‘Italian Reds’) as it was a wonderful
opportunity to visit with so many of you and to share another memorable moment as we move closer to Spring 2013, and into what is sure to become an equally fun and exciting year and a new, collective friendship for all of us…
Cheers! Dorsey
